Palin rally draws 60,000
Still some shine on that new penny.
Palin draws crowd of 60,000 in The Villages
“Sa-Rah! Sa-Rah!” they chanted at every mention of her name, applauding loudly and waiving tiny American flags that were distributed — along with free water bottles — by local volunteers. The fire chief estimated the crowd at 60,000.
Here is a segment of her speech.

Sarah Palin’s Wikipedia Entry
Is actually very good. Someone did a fine job on this and I commend them for their fair and straightforward presentment of her life and political career.

ABC News Ties Sarah Palin to Pentecostalism
ABC News Ties Sarah Palin to Pentecostalism
“As America gets a crash course in Sarah Palin, the question has been raised of how her two decades as a member of the Assemblies of God church in Wasilla has shaped her personality. If elected, Sarah Palin would become the most powerful Pentecostal in U.S. history. So how has this church shaped her as a leader? ”
What is interesting about this is that my father (a minister now for forty years) was an Assemblies of God pastor for seven years and was also a pastor for many years with Church on the Rock International. That is the ‘non-denominational’ church referred to in the article that Sarah Palin now attends. (My father is now pastoring a Four Square church). Church on the Rock is an association of churches, not a denomination, so they can technically get away with calling themselves ‘non-denominational’.
My maternal grandfather (a minister, pastor, and preacher for some sixty years) was also an Assemblies of God pastor for many of those years and then later was an ordained minister with the Independent Assemblies of God for about the last twenty five years of his life. My great-grandfather and step great-grandfather were also Assembly of God pastors. My great uncle is also a ‘Pentecostal’ (we prefer the term ‘full gospel’, ‘bible believing’, or ’spirit filled’) minister and has been since the age of sixteen.
I guess all of that makes Sarah Palin one of “my people”. I can safely say that I have far more insight into the personal theology, belief system and Christian world view of Governor Sarah Palin than the entire staff of ABC News could ever hope to have.
The Assemblies are actually considered pretty mild for “Pentecostals” and I wouldn’t have the slightest trepidation of putting someone with that belief system in a position of authority. If anything, a few more people who strive to be honest, moral, and forthright and who have humbled themselves before God might be just the thing our increasingly corrupt system of government needs.
What ABC is trying to say is that because Palin is a Bible believing Christian that somehow makes her scary, or dangerous or ‘other’ and therefore she should be rejected in favor of the secularist who attended a radical, black liberation theology church for twenty plus years and whose pastor and spiritual mentor is well known for his anti-white, anti-American and anti-Israel stances, rants and raves. This also means she is probably not a baby whacker or willing to personally officiate at lesbian weddings, obviously making her ‘not a feminist’ and worthy only of slander and rumor.
Sounds fair, doesn’t it? I absolutely detest the media. It is sad to see a nation that has now apparently declared secularism to be its national religion while rejecting, ridiculing and mocking the Faith that this nation and its concepts and laws was founded upon. The road is not always easy for those who have chosen to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
For those seeking some perspective on numbers, “Pentecostals” number about 10-30 million in the United States depending on how you define the term and make up one quarter of all Christians worldwide. They are a subset of the larger evangelical movement that numbers about 102 million people in the United States. There are significant overlaps between the two and they are often virtually indistinguishable from one another depending on the church and/or denomination. For example, both E and DFV attend or have attended evangelical churches and so do I, but they don’t attend a ‘Pentecostal’ church, but I do…

Red State Update: Sarah Palin Picked As McCain’s VP
These guys are always lots of fun…
Sarah Palin is being ’swiftboated’ by Hockey Moms for Truth
I can’t believe what the Left has managed to dig up on Palin: her children aren’t always perfect little angels, she may or may not have been mean to a librarian once, and now this… shocking.

Goldberg on Feminism and Palin
Intense political conflict only brings out the best in writers. Some of the best and most impassioned writing I have seen in some time all seems to focus around Sarah Palin. I can’t remember a time that a vice presidential candidate has so completely reversed an election.
Feminist Army Aims it Canon at Palin
Gloria Steinem, the grand mufti of feminism, issued a fatwa anathematizing Palin. A National Organization for Women spokeswoman proclaimed Palin more of a man than a woman. Wendy Doniger, a feminist academic at the University of Chicago, writes of Palin in Newsweek: “Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman.”
It’s funny. The left has been whining about having their patriotism questioned for so long it feels like they started griping in the Mesozoic era. Feminists have argued for decades that womanhood is an existential and metaphysical state of enlightenment. But they have no problem questioning whether women they hate are really women at all.

In German no less… who thinks this stuff up? Another “don’t miss” video.

The Arctic Fox Strikes Again
“My fellow Americans come join our cause!” – Sarah Palin
EXCLUSIVE Interview with Gov. Sarah Palin
There is just no stopping Sarah Palin. She is coming across as a smart and competent conservative ready not only for a hard fought campaign, but for bringing reform and common sense to Washington. The idiots that were initially trying to smear her as “Dan Quayle in a dress” and other such nonsense have dropped that line of attack and are reluctantly coming around to the viewpoint that she is a much stronger candidate that they could have imagined. As long as she continues to “hold her own” and doesn’t make a major gaffe in the vice-presidential debate, she will have more than proven her worth as McCain’s vice presidential pick. And perhaps even the difference between victory and defeat in November.

Good Quote
“In short, Sarah Palin is the emblem of what feminism was supposed to be all
about: an unafraid, independent, audacious woman, who soared on her own merits
without the aid of a patriarchal jumpstart, high-brow matrimonial tutelage
and capital, and old-boy liaisons and networking.” —Victor Davis Hanson

The Palin Factor
Palin Energizing Women From All Walks Of Life
Excerpt:
“Several senior officials in both parties said they think Palin’s attraction is the result, in part, of a generally negative mood among some female voters this year, first, as Clinton faced a “boys’ club” mentality in the Democratic primaries and then as Palin faced intense questioning, much of it highly personal, after McCain named her as his running mate.
To Republicans, Palin’s burst onto the national scene could be a chance to redefine the nature of feminism in politics, recasting it beyond traditionally liberal issues such as abortion rights. “I hope so, because I think it’s been unfortunate that it’s been so closely pegged, so closely defined, to just a few issues,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
Murkowski, whose father lost to Palin in a 2006 gubernatorial primary, said Palin represented a “generational shift” for voters in her state, something that will bode well for her ability to appeal to younger female voters.”

Maverick/Barracuda bumper stickers now available
These are now available on ebay. Better hurry folks before they are gone. I just purchased three. A bit more fun than the traditional bumper stickers I guess. Not that anyone will know what the heck it means when they see it on the back of my vehicles… (:
Democrats Embody Hypocrisy by David Limbaugh
David Limbaugh has long been one of my favorite writer. He couldn’t be more correct about the intellectually and morally bankrupt that passes as the “progressive” ideology in this country.
While misidentifying and condemning continued conservative support for Sarah Palin as hypocrisy, they’re putting on a disgraceful clinic in what real hypocrisy looks like. They’re showing us firsthand how they treat women who refuse to toe the liberal line, just as they’ve shown us how they treat African-Americans who dare stray from their liberally assigned ideology.
Sarah Palin: Outstanding at the RNC
The absolute furor of interest in McCain’s choice for vice president has been amazing. Every column about her is inundated with both readers and comments. Love her or hate her, she has changed politics in general and this race in particular in many ways. The Right is ecstatic, the Left is in a hateful, vindictive frenzy, and the rest of America is watching this drama unfold.
It helped McCain or it didn’t. It was a brilliant gamble or the stupidest move imaginable. Take your pick and you might be right either way. It is still too early to tell how the crazy currents of the political tide will have shaped things come early November. There is the very strong possibility that millions of mothers can relate to Palin and any more ugly snarkiness from the media or the myriad of loose cannons at Daily Kos, the Huffington Post and like minded sites may end up creating a significant ‘sympathy vote’ that could very well be the tipping point in this unexpectedly close contest.
She is far tougher than many can imagine and a new phase of the 2008 presidential race is just beginning.
The political landscape is littered with those who have underestimated Sarah Palin and she has a successful history of opposing the sell-outs, the insiders and the professional politicians of both parties. She is the ‘average American” success story that all the professional politicians and blowhard elitists try to make believe they really are. With her it is not act, but the simple truth. The hometown girl who has shaken the pillars of the establishment and is now battering at the gates of power with the powerful weapons of hope, truth, honesty, reform and a heartfelt and sincere conservative message should be downplayed at your own peril.
After the artificial firestorm of the last few days, if anybody needed a ‘home run’ this political season it was Sarah Palin. And boy did she deliver Wednesday night. Grand slam, spectacular and impressive. Well done, Mrs. Palin, well done. She did exactly what she needed to do without gaffes or looking “unready” or nervous. In fact she showed the fire and spirit, strength and determination that led to early ‘Draft Palin” blogs and a conservative base that had watched with growing excitement as she made it onto the ‘short list’ of potential vice presidential candidates (she’d been on the ‘long list’ since April). The media may have been surprised by her pick, but anybody who had followed this race closely was not.
The 2008 race has truly just begun. Give ‘em hell Sarah Barracuda!
A Star is Born
More Than 40 Million Viewers Tuned Into Palin’s Speech
That’s amazing, especially for a veep candidate. Some 2 million more women watched it than men and 4.9 million more women watched it than watched Obama’s coronation. That is telling as well and a potential disaster for Obama if he starts to bleed middle class white women voters to McCain/Palin. You can view the speech here if you missed it. It has made what was a rising star of the GOP into a celebrity extraordinaire and a rallying point for conservatives. The smear freaks who went after Palin only drove up interest and curiosity about her. I think the Leftist fringe made a huge mistake by not just basically ignoring her as inconsequential and a light weight. Instead, they’ve created another celebrity who is now stealing some of Obama’s limelight and novelty. Good going fellas.

Home run hitter
If anyone needed a home run it was Sarah Palin. And boy did she deliver Wednesday. Grand slam, spectacular and impressive. Well done, Mrs. Palin, well done. Biden better get himself a cup.

McCain Pick is Paying Off Big Time
The risk John McCain took last Friday is comparable to the 72-year-old ex-fighter pilot knocking back two shots and flying his F-16 under the Golden Gate Bridge.
McCain’s choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his co-pilot was the biggest gamble in presidential history. As of now, it is paying off, big-time…
…By passing over his friends Joe Lieberman and Tom Ridge, and picking Palin, McCain has given himself a fighting chance of winning the White House that, before Friday morning, seemed to be slipping away. Indeed, the bristling reaction on the left testifies to Democratic fears that the choice of Palin could indeed be a game-changer in 2008.
My first youtube video
There is now tremendous interest in McCain’s pick for veep and I thought I would try to make an easy to make youtube video about her to see how it turned out. Let me know what you think.

Our “Little Barracuda”
The various factions of the Left have decided to “pounce” on McCain’s VP pick, Sarah Palin. What’s hilarious is that every one of the complaints about Palin by the yapping Democratic attack dogs can and should be applied directly to Obama. McCains vice presidential selection is more experienced and more qualified for the presidency than the Democratic nominee himself. That should tell you something.
They’ve basically got a glorified “I vote present” Illinois state senator running for the highest office in the land while they are complaining about a governor and, might I add, the only person on either ticket with actual governing experience. Palin stands in stark contrast to an Obama who has abundantly more baggage and a disturbingly tainted and problematic past.
I say burn the naysayers and doomsayers at the stake. It was a bold and fine pick Mr. McCain. Palin has a backbone of steel, is fiercely independent, strong minded and witty and has created her own success in life. Let the bully boys and the pit bulls circle and growl, but Palin should do you proud. McCain has to be willing to be bold, calculating and willing to take risks. Whether the Palin pick will make much of a difference remains to be seen but the maverick continues to surprise and impress as the campaign goes on. He has done remarkably well and far better than many initially thought he might. This election is Obama’s to lose but the “inevitability” factor has almost completely dissipated and his pick of Biden was one born out of desperation, panic and weakness in response from increasingly effective McCain campaign strategies.
With this one pick, McCain has snapped the conservative base back into place (she is loved by pro-lifers, evangelicals, gun rights advocates, and the lovers of Liberty everywhere) and also managed to reach out to every middle class, working soccer mom type that may have considered Hillary at one time or another. It softens the appearance of the ticket, helps eliminate the “novelty” factor of an Obama candidacy, and also guarantees that history will also be made on November 4th with a McCain victory.
The low blow name-calling that is already being bantered about by Democratic talking heads is already borderline sexist and certainly joins the ‘ageism’ so evident in the attacks on John McCain. The “party of tolerance” is in fact often a very intolerant group of hypocrites and conservatives like myself never tire in pointing that out. That is just one of the many, many reasons why I do not subscribe to the intellectually and morally barren “progressive” ideology.
Here are a couple of things you may not know about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
In high school Palin was known as “Sarah Barracuda” by her classmates due to her fierce competitiveness on the basketball court. Her oldest son is in the army and is being deployed to Iraq . She was the 2nd runner up for the Miss Alaska title. She is known as a political outsider and maverick, loves mooseburgers, is witty, smart and is considered squeaky clean in a political climate that often oozes with corruption.
Politics can be really fun at times. This is one of those times. The “Right” has been so concerned about McCain yet have faithfully, if reluctantly, backed his “Nobama” candidacy. They have been scared to death of Obama and his vision of an apparent womb to the tomb socialist, Utopian state complete with hamster wheel powered vehicles and torch and pitchfork pogroms against all those who are white, bitter, Bible believing, gun owners who hesitate to hire illegals to clean their plastic wading pools. They don’t want to be micromanaged by an unfeeling, uncaring federal government that insists upon interfering and regulating every aspect of their daily lives.
The sound you now hear is millions of conservatives rushing to man the barricades against the Oprah hordes. In less than twelve hours the past sins of the maverick McCain were forgiven if not forgotten and Sarah “barracuda” Palin became some sort of amalgamated mascot, poster child, rallying point and hero of the conservative camp. The pundits will ponder the question as to whether Palin brought over the women to the McCain camp, but the truth is she brought over every male that is old enough to spout some hair on his chest or hasn’t been emasculated somewhere along the way by angry FemiNazis.
In politics, there is nothing more greatly feared by the Left than an energized and united conservative movement. They delivered the white house to Reagan, shook the very pillars of the Clinton presidency, rallied the nation to fight the vanguards of fundamentalist Islam and now they will be coming after The One and all those who weep and faint at the mere sight and sound of their new secular Messiah. The conservatives have found a rallying point, McCain has found a powerful new symbol and the Democrats who once believed they had this election in the bag are increasingly defensive in their tactics and shrill in their attacks. They have been betrayed and deflated by Bush and vilified and impaled by the Left and the media, but the elation and galvanization of a down but not out ideology that is still powerful and influential cannot be denied. And they may be the difference between a McCain victory and a McCain defeat.
The partisan rhetoric aside, I would much rather be governed by a self-made success story living the American dream with the independent and freedom-loving values of rural Alaska than by someone who is the product of the corrupt Chicago, inner city political machine. One wants you to control your life, and the other wants to control your life for you. You’ll hear a lot about “experience” in this election but just as important is the concept of freedom, common sense, morals and values. The winner of that debate is clear.
Hello America.
An ice queen from the far North has arisen in opposition to he who was proclaimed THE ONE by the Oprah oracle. She is rallying millions of Americans who would much rather have a pit bull conservative Alaskan as a vice president than a celebrity socialist in the white house.
